A Journey Through The Belgian Pavilion

BELGIUM’S CONVIVIALITY HAS A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Throughout the six months of Expo Milano 2015, the Belgian
Pavilion was a showcase for the country as well as for its landscape, architecture and innovative technology related to foodproduction and environmental sustainability.

The World Exposition was an opportunity for Belgium, itsRegions and Communities to invite visitors to discover howour food culture and the friendly atmosphere of our countrygo hand in hand with sustainable practices.

With the core theme: ‘’Small Country. Great Food’’, Belgiumwas presented as a country where food equals quality, innovationand diversity. We took advantage of this Expo to shareour culinary tradition, which entails a social dimension: the culture of sharing meals, the friendly atmosphere of the country and the warm-hearted welcome of its people.

To get across the food theme effectively, the Belgian Fries’Kiosk, the Chocolate Corner, the Beer Bar and the Boutiquesuccessfully conveyed the “Belgian spirit” to visitors.

The Belgian Pavilion, in particular its business centre, was alsoa space for the exchange of ideas and knowledge. Last but notleast, it also hosted a wide variety of events that presented thequintessence of Belgian culture and welcomed visitors with special tasting sessions, receptions, demonstrations and cultural performances: gastronomy, technology and creativity, not forgetting the celebratory and humorous aspect of Belgium.
