For the city of Oudenaarde, we created a new visual identity that connects its rich heritage with a forward-looking spirit. The goal: a contemporary and powerful look that’s instantly recognizable.At the heart of the design is a golden circle featuring the “bril” – a stylized reference to the city’s historic seal. This subtle nod to tradition is reimagined with a clean, modern aesthetic, paired with a balanced mix of classic and contemporary typography. The gold evokes a sense of quality and legacy, while the minimal style brings freshness and clarity.The identity was rolled out across all city communications, from signage to stationery. Oudenaarde now has a visual style that reflects pride, history, and renewal — a future-ready identity for a city in motion.
