What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. It lets a site recognise your device on a later visit — handy for a shopping basket or a login, and just as useful for following people around the web. That second use is the reason the law asks for your permission.

What this site uses

Nothing. This is a portfolio: it shows images and films and asks nothing of you. It sets no cookies, keeps nothing in your browser’s local storage, and has no accounts to log in to.

Films from Vimeo

Some project pages contain a film hosted by Vimeo. We load that player with Vimeo’s Do Not Track setting switched on, so Vimeo does not record who is watching and places no tracking cookies. The player may still keep the small amount of technical data your browser needs to play video.

What Vimeo does with the request for the film itself is governed by Vimeo’s privacy policy.

Cookies from the previous version of this site

Until October 2026 this address ran a different website, which did use Google Analytics. If you visited it, your browser may still hold a cookie whose name starts with _ga. Nothing here uses or reads it and it expires on its own, but you can delete it at any time through your browser settings.

Refusing cookies

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies — look under Settings, usually beside Privacy. Since this site sets none, blocking them changes nothing here. On other sites it may well break something, so it is worth deciding site by site rather than all at once.

If this ever changes

If we add a way of counting visitors, we will say so here before switching it on, and we will choose a method that works without cookies. Should that ever prove impossible, you will get a real choice first — not a banner that assumes your consent.
